Sense of Community

“How would you define “ sense of community " ?" This is the question we tried to find an answer to in our classes.  In groups, we reflected on what the word “community” means to us: it isn’t just living in the same place…there’s much more.

All of us are part of several communities: neighborhood, class, church, a football team….

The members of a community share the same path, passions, interests, values; they feel connected and united by a sense of togetherness.

Also, participating in local events and sharing goals and projects can foster a sense of belonging and unity; getting involved in the communities we’re part of makes us active, positive members.

The posters we made gather all the words and sentences we thought of when discussing this topic.

“Come definiresti il ​​“senso di comunità”?” Questa è la domanda a cui abbiamo cercato di trovare una risposta durante le nostre lezioni. In gruppi abbiamo riflettuto su cosa significhi per noi la parola “comunità”: non è solo vivere nello stesso posto… è molto di più.

Tutti noi facciamo parte di diverse comunità: il quartiere, la classe, la chiesa, la squadra di calcio….

I membri di una comunità condividono lo stesso percorso, passioni, interessi, valori; si sentono connessi e uniti da un senso di solidarietà.

Inoltre, la partecipazione ad eventi locali e la condivisione di obiettivi e progetti possono favorire il senso di appartenenza e unità; essere coinvolti nelle attività delle comunità di cui facciamo parte ci rende membri attivi e positivi.

In our last few lessons with the mother tongue teacher we have discussed what a community is, what communities we are part of, how to be a positive member of a community. We have found out that even our class can be considered a community and we have to support and help each other. In small groups we have prepared some posters about "My sense of community". Here are our works.

3BG and 3CG have dealt with a very current issue of creating a “Sense of Community”. With this topic the
students discussed what a community meant to them, if they belonged to any community groups and their
school community. The students presented their ideas on posters and presented their ideas to the class.
